Your Opportunity Content Editor At Pearson VUE we have an exciting opportunity for a Content Editor to join us. It'll be your job to ensure that all questions and other material written for tests/exams are of the highest quality. The content you review will be varied as you will be working on different subjects across multiple industries. Your role will involve proofreading and copy-editing to make questions grammatically correct and clear. You will also be responsible for reviewing questions to make sure they are suitable, and copywriting, revising or re-writing any content that isn't quite right. You will work with the wider Content Editing team to deliver work to agreed deadlines. Part of your role will also involve editing reports and updating our project tracker systems. Our Successful Candidate We are looking for a team-player with excellent attention to detail and communication skills. You will be confident in working with accuracy across multiple projects and always deliver to deadlines. Key Activities Proofreading and copy-editing test questions and technical reports to make them grammatically correct, clear and consistent Critically reviewing test questions to ensure they meet the test requirements and are in line with our diversity, equity and inclusion policy Revising or re-writing content as necessary Checking references Writing explanations for correct answers Typesetting mathematical equations Editing images Conducting a final review of exams Maintaining project documentation such as style guides Supporting Content Developers with other project work as needed Essential Experience and Qualifications Bachelor's degree in English or a related field, or the equivalent experience/qualification High level and knowledge of the English language (written and oral) Experience in proofreading and copy-editing Concentration, accuracy and attention to detail Ability to work on several tasks at any one time IT skills, with experience of Microsoft Office products and technologies Ability to work on own initiative Experience of working in a team Desirable Experience and Qualifications Experience working in publishing Training in proofreading or copy-editing Experience of editing images Experience using web-based or bespoke content management tools Knowledge of accessibility in testing Experience with AI Working Arrangements This role offers a hybrid working model based at our Salford Quays office.
