Job Title: Buyer
Location: Plymouth
Contract Type: Full-time, Monday-Friday
Ventro, Firntec and LivGreen are an exciting group of companies focused on fire-safety services and net zero retrofit. As a Buyer, you will work closely and effectively with the purchasing team to support our project managers in ensuring timely delivery of stock to customer sites. You will need to be confident in negotiations and communicate with a variety of suppliers to achieve the best possible price on fire safety products. We will provide full training on product knowledge!
Key Skills / Responsibilities:
1. Managing own projects independently when ordering bespoke fire doors
2. Creating a bill of quantities from an estimate to forecast material needed for a project
3. Reactive based purchasing for onsite orders
4. Completing thorough reviews on bespoke door orders prior to production to ensure accuracy
5. Monitoring budgets and spend to maximise GP
6. Conducting tender and rebate reviews with suppliers to ensure optimal pricing
7. Liaising with suppliers and internal departments
8. Negotiating pricing with suppliers
9. Conducting supplier reviews
10. Purchasing per project based on the bill of quantities within the budget set
11. Reactive purchasing based on on-site requisitions
12. Meeting deadlines for goods to get to site
13. Resolving account queries and ordering issues
The successful candidate must:
1. Have previous buying experience; construction-based buying experience is advantageous
2. A background in Fire Safety is desirable
3. Have great attention to detail
4. Possess excellent negotiation skills
5. Demonstrate strong communication skills
6. Exhibit data entry skills
7. Be proficient in the use of Microsoft Office applications
