Within this role you will work to ensure the integrity of custody and cash position data and the complete reconciliation, investigation and allocation of all breaks in cash and securities.
You will also liaise with an array of operational teams to ensure that breaks are investigated and resolved and that issues are tracked to resolution.
The programme
You will join Schroders as a permanent employee and start your career in our Operations Academy, which currently runs for 18-24 months. During this time you will study for your CISI Level 3 - Investment Operations Certificate, learn on the job and have access to a wide range of soft skill training courses.
What you'll do
1. Accountable for allocated portfolios, proactive investigation and timely follow up of queries arising from internal stakeholders, clients, counterparties, custodians and administrators;
2. Perform custody transaction and position reconciliation against internal records;
3. Maintain ownership of daily cash and stock breaks by conducting investigation on differences, and monitoring through timely resolution with processing teams and custodians/administrators;
4. Perform outstanding OTC bilateral collateral and outstanding position reconciliation, outstanding fixed deposit positions, between internal and counterparty records and monitor through breaks resolution in a timely manner;
5. Daily reconciliation of Treasury trade confirmations;
6. Requesting statements of holdings and balances from custodians and fund transfer agents;
7. Validate and update internal records with relevant transactions, such as fees and income;
8. Work through high volumes, prioritise, and manage workload according to risk or deadlines;
9. Escalate potential problems before they become a risk;
10. Meet the needs of our business partners and internal clients; and Assist in the training of staff; and
11. Provide specialist product knowledge; contribute to department and Company initiatives and projects.
The knowledge, experience and qualifications that'll help
1. Any experience which demonstrates good communication, analytical skills, and working well within a team environment.
2. Proficient in basic software notably Excel;
3. Keenness to innovate and improve processes.
4. Experience of prioritising workload, demonstrating a keen eye for detail, problem solving and confidence in communicating.
5. Being organised and taking the initiative.
You must be at least 18 years old by the start date of the programme to apply for the advertised intake. You will need to study for your CISI Level 3 - Investment Operations Certificate outside of normal office hours.
