University Of Nottingham Sport is currently undergoing an ambitious change and investment programme to further support our vision to deliver an outstanding student sporting offer and establish the University as the first choice for students wishing to combine a top-quality education with an outstanding sporting experience.
As part of this programme, there are four positions available for Sports Centre receptionists to join our front of house team at the David Ross Sports Village and Jubilee Campus Sports Centre, both offered on permanent contracts.
Available Positions:
1. Post 1: 24.5 hours per week - DRSV Monday 6.15am-2.30pm, Tuesday 1.15pm-9.30pm, Wednesday 3pm-8.30pm and Thursday 3pm-8.30pm
2. Post 2: 12.25 hours per week - DRSV Monday 3pm-8.30pm and Saturday 10.15am-6.30pm
3. Post 3: 21.75 hours per week - JCSC Tuesday 6.45am-3pm, Wednesday 2.30pm-10.45pm and Thursday 2.30pm-10.45pm
4. Post 4: 28.75 hours per week - JCSC Wednesday 6.45am-3pm, Thursday 6.45am-3pm, Friday 2.30pm - 10.45pm and Saturday 2.45-10.15pm

Roles and Responsibilities:
1. Taking bookings by telephone or in person
2. Collection and reconciliation of monies on reception whilst on duty
3. Dealing with enquiries and directing users
4. Issuing hire equipment and dealing with membership enquiries
5. Issuing membership cards and checking the validity of users
6. Dealing with lost property
Candidates should have an excellent telephone manner and the ability to work calmly and professionally under pressure. Previous experience in a similar customer-focused role is essential, along with evidence of managing cash-handling and reconciliation processes. Experience with computer-booking systems is desirable.
The role is key to ensuring a first-class and seamless experience for our students, staff, alumni, and public members. Excellent communication and customer care skills, along with a pro-active approach to tasks and attention to detail, are essential.
