Legal Support Assistant X2 Positions available. Pertemps are currently recruiting for a Legal Support Assistant on behalf of our client based in Telford, Shropshire. You will assist the fee earner in meeting the clients needs to ensure the delivery of an efficient service; strengthening and improving relations with existing clients and other professionals; enhance fee income by adding value to existing client relationships and by developing profitable relationships with new clients. Hours: Mon-Fri 09:00-17:15 with one hour lunch. Salary: £23,000-£28,000 per annum DOE | Office based. Duties include but not limited to: High attention to detail is required in dealing with clients and on all files. Deliver an agreed level of fee earning and performance targets of up to 1 hour per day. Track, monitor and time record all time spent on client matters. Ensure that time is recorded and billed appropriately where applicable. Liaise with the Legal Support Service team on matters as required relating to file opening, dictation etc. Gather the initial client details electronically prior to forwarding to the LSS team for the file to be opened. Liaise as required with the LAAs in order to obtain any additional information required in order for the file to be opened. Set up initial appointments. Anticipate as well as respond to clients requirements, dealing with queries. Maintain diaries and organise internal and client meetings. Prepare post and correspondence as required in relation to the role. Filing preparation, maintenance and updating of client files. Taking detailed instructions from clients and contacts including new matters (but not providing advice) and generally assisting fee earners to progress matters, including arranging and sitting in on client meetings to take notes. Liaising with clients and contacts as required and enhancing fee income by adding value to existing client relationships and by developing profitable relationships with new clients. Monitoring movement of documents and files including backlog. Responsible for all aspects of the administration, including recording all own time spent on client matters and ensuring that time is billed promptly. Payment of invoices and other payments, e.g. to clients or contacts as and when required. Answering telephone calls and dealing with queries within remit. File administration including forms, prepare bundles and indexing bundles of documents under instruction. Close the file, check that all letters have been sent out and that there are no outstanding balances and close the file down on the system. Ideal Candidate: 5 GCSEs Grade 4 or above (or equivalent) including English and Maths. 3 A levels or equivalent. Positive attitude towards learning and development. Demonstrable experience in a high-level administrative support role. Experience of diary management. Experience and competence in obtaining accurate messages from clients over the phone. Use of electronic case management systems. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment. IT literate and excellent skill and competency in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
