HOW CAN YOU HELP US?
In a nutshell: Are you interested in leading and managing the Food Microbiology & Chemistry Business Unit in Linlithgow? Can you coordinate the management and development of New Business Development for Food Microbiology/Chemistry/Cross-Selling by exploring geographical reach, customer type and customer size working alongside the Commercial team? Do you have experience with P&L management, operational and people management, technical and quality performance? Then this role might be the one for you!
What team will I be part of? You will be part of the Food cluster more specifically Food Microbiology & Chemistry in Linlithgow, Scotland, and would report into the Cluster Director for this unit.

As a Business Unit Manager, You Will:
Strategy: Under the guidance of the Cluster Director, identify the unique value proposition of the BU alongside taking the lead in the development of the Commercial plan to deliver the new business win requirements to become profit generating, working with the commercial team.
People: Lead the Linlithgow Food Microbiology/Chemistry/Cross-Selling BU, act as a role model for your team, and ensure all employees act according to the Eurofins values. Do so by hiring, managing, motivating/engaging, developing and retaining excellent managers and employees to establish a reliable and high performing team with a robust succession plan.
Compliance & HSE: Ensure and guarantee development, control, implementation, and continuous improvement of compliance with relevant legislation, regulation and accreditation requirements, including all relevant direct or indirect legal, health & safety and quality requirements of the BU. Incorporate robust sustainability actions into plans for the BU and new market sector development to improve the sustainability and minimise the environmental impact of our operations.
Operations: Take steps to improve operational and logistical efficiency, including streamlined operational processes, Lean methodologies, and IT usage to improve efficiency.
Sales & Customer Satisfaction: Maintain and constantly improve customer satisfaction (including internal customers) and ensure your BU delivers a high standard of service and expertise. In conjunction with the commercial team, build strong positive relationships with existing and new market clients, developing an in-depth knowledge of their requirements and ensuring interactions are efficient and constructive.
Financial Management: Support the preparation of the annual budget and 3-year financial plan for the Linlithgow BU and assist in the creation of the same for the new market business sector. Manage the P&L for your BU and report on any deviations with a clear plan on action being taken to address the situation.

Background: You have worked in either a food, aquaculture, animal health environment or the TIC (Testing, Inspection and Certification sector) industry, and have been in a people management role for at least 5 years. You have Profit and Loss experience, where you had operations and commercial aspects under your responsibility. You have experience managing complex team structures and are comfortable working in a technical environment.
Education: You have a degree in science (Microbiology/Chemistry/Business Administration) or NCEA diploma in a relevant discipline.
Language: English proficiency is a must, and good command in other languages are highly appreciated.
Technical knowledge:
Hands-on in Advanced MS Office and LEAN production methodologies,
