Job Summary
The Royal Bournemouth Hospital Estates Department provides a comprehensive maintenance, repair and installation service of the buildings, grounds, engineering services and associated equipment throughout the Trust. We are looking for a building maintenance carpenter to join our building team with general carpentry experience including the maintenance of fire doors. You should have served a recognised carpentry apprenticeship and gained a wide experience in general buildings or NHS properties with a BTEC HNC level or City and Guilds plus relevant post apprenticeship training or equivalent experience. You must hold a current UK (manual) driving licence. This is a bank role (temporary contract).

Responsibilities

Essential Qualifications
* Apprenticeship in relevant core trade with a Minimum of a City and Guilds with advanced craft certificate or BTEC, ONC in relevant building Maintenance Trade.
Experience
* Minimum 3 years experience in General building maintenance, outside core trade of Painting/Decorating, carpentry, Joinery.
* Have good understanding of the relationship of other craftsmen's work to their own.
* Experience of maintenance carpentry and building in a range of settings.
Skills
* Ability to interpret and work from all instructions, drawings and specifications appropriate to original trade, without supervision.
* Familiar with hand and power tools.
Knowledge
* Health & Safety training.
* Good knowledge of carpentry and joinery techniques.
