Job Description:
What you’ll be doing:
1. Supports on the implementation of technical solutions for both customers and colleagues and delivers on the resolution of inter-system issues, working within cross-functional squads to assist in creating and implementing technical solutions for a domain or cross domain activity within a specific technology area.
2. Supports in the execution of technical decisions, technology choices and architecture for a wide range of high-performance products, capabilities, and platforms, effectively balancing short-term impact with long-term transformation.
3. Supports the design and development of software solutions in accordance with the wider architecture and security standards.
4. Undertakes technical reviews to continually update knowledge and skills in software engineering principles and practices, ensuring a base level of technical specialism proficiency to enable industry and quality standards to positively impact work and customers.
5. Supports with the designs of technical specifications and development of software solutions of smaller and/or less complex initiatives in partnership with team, contributing towards the quality of delivery.
6. Writes, tests and reviews code, refining and rewriting as necessary under supervision and communicates to engineering professionals and colleagues involved in the project.
7. Integrates existing software products and solves routine problems to enable incompatible platforms to work together.
8. Maintains systems by monitoring and correcting software defects.
9. Supports the implementation and maintenance of high-quality tools and automation processes to support continuous delivery and developer productivity.
10. Supports the delivery of an ambitious and compelling technical roadmap to meet the needs of the business, engineering team, and partner teams.
11. May support engineering and operational excellence initiatives, assisting with implementing metrics and processes for regular assessment and improvement.
12. Supports in the implementation of ways to improve working processes within the area of software engineering responsibility.
13. As a Software Engineering Professional, you are responsible for the Design and Development of Digital’s Strategic Platforms.
14. Be a collaborative software engineer delivering features to our internal customers via our cloud product suites.
15. Support our customers to help unblock issues in the cloud when required.
16. Actively engage with the security and compliance teams to ensure what we deliver is fit for purpose.
17. Evangelize cloud-first and software engineering principles to our stakeholders.
18. Collaborating with other engineering leaders to contribute to company-wide engineering best practices and standards.
19. Interact with cross-functional teams to understand the business requirements and convert them into effective solutions.
20. Mentor junior engineers and contribute to the development of a strong engineering culture within the team.
21. Work as part of an agile team to turn complex business needs into elegant solutions.
22. Conduct design reviews to ensure solutions fit our architecture, security, scalability and maintainability guidelines.
23. Ensure the continued implementation of a test first approach, and implement the clean architecture principles.
The skills you'll need:
1. Mandatory– Previous experience working on a vendor solution, preferably SAP Fieldglass implementation with involvement in design, build, configuration, implementation & hyper care.
2. Understanding of the HR/Talent Acquisition function within a global corporate organisation including local HR legislation impacts on systems and processes.
3. Understanding of contingent workforce management across a global organisation.
4. Experience of working e2e across a service delivery value chain.
5. In-depth knowledge of vendor solutions, preferably SAP Fieldglass.
6. Excellent documentation and written communication skills (workbook updates, creating support tickets, etc.).
7. Experience in requirements gathering and driving true SaaS adoption.
8. Understanding of basic XML concepts, system development and testing.
9. Understanding of GUI; radio button, pick lists, and other configuration items.
10. Working knowledge of tools used in a run team environment e.g. ticketing tools, testing.
11. Agile methodology and Agile development.
12. Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
13. Strong relationship skills – both internal/external.
