Our Route
Central route is at the heart of Britain's railway. The route covers a major part of the national rail network and is a key commuter line in and out of Birmingham, with hundreds of thousands of passengers, and thousands of tonnes of freight carried within our route each week. Within our route is the Chiltern Main Line between London Marylebone and the West Midlands, the Snow Hill line from Stratford-upon-Avon to Worcester, the Cross City line in Birmingham, and lines to other cities including Wolverhampton, Coventry, Walsall, and Oxford.
We are home to Birmingham New Street station, the busiest station outside of London with more than 170,000 passengers using it every day.
About the role
This rewarding role will be supporting our Stations, Safety and Programme Management teams alongside the HR Business Partner across Central Route. In this role you'll deliver proactive and professional HR support to empower the HR Business Partner team in driving impactful HR solutions, bringing the people strategy to life for the organisations we support. This role will primarily support the Stations, Safety and Programme Management teams, and the day to day working location may change dependent on business needs.
We require someone with strong communication skills, particularly with experience of detailed reporting analysis. It will also require someone who can use their initiative to look beyond the day-to-day requirements and suggest ways we can improve what we currently do that will support our Maintenance Team. Employee Relations knowledge would be helpful, alongside working knowledge of HR processes and policies and how they are applied.
What will you be doing day to day?
* Providing proactive, professional HR Support to the HR Business Partner team/s and the business to facilitate the delivery of value add HR and the delivery of the people/HR plans.
* Supporting HR Business Partner teams in Talent Management, Workforce and Succession Planning and performance planning, maintaining appropriate data within the associated process.
* Providing support for Organisation Change programmes, through the full development and implementation phases.
* Providing project management support to the HR Business Partner team, tracking, measuring and communicating through the project timeline.
* Supporting the associated HR Business Partner team/s with research, reporting requirements, analysis and production of reports to support the implementation of HR initiatives.
* Seeking, identifying and developing solutions to continuously improve the HR support to the business.
* Maintaining up to date professional HR knowledge to input into the development of both operational and value add HR initiatives.
* Taking ownership for delivery of assigned work within HR programmes/initiatives.
* Supporting the associated HR Business Partner team/s with ad hoc administrative and operational HR activity.

It's not mandatory to have the below, but it would be desirable to have:
* CIPD Qualified or relevant HR Support experience.

Salary
£27,000-£30,000- Dependant on experience.
