About the role:
Responsible for all day-to-day aspects of the company’s bidding activities and commercial function, the main function of this role is to co-ordinate key activities in line with the company’s strategy in order to ensure that sustainable and profitable opportunities are secured.
Key duties include, but are not limited to:
1. Develop and implement comprehensive commercial and bidding strategies and processes aligned with company values to maximise success rates and achieve business objectives.
2. Lead and manage the entire bid lifecycle, including analysing requirements, co-ordinating bid teams, and ensuring timely submission of high-quality tailored proposals that effectively address client needs and differentiate our offerings in the marketplace.
3. Develop and complete all costing and pricing models. Develop budgets, EAC’s and cashflow profiles for each bid. Support the wider team in monitoring performance during delivery.
4. Negotiate contract terms and conditions with clients to secure fair and profitable agreements while mitigating risks and ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
5. Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, partners, subcontractors and internal stakeholders to enhance bidding opportunities and drive business sustainable and profitable growth.
What we’re looking for:
Applications from candidates who can demonstrate the following requirements will be prioritised for consideration. 1. Proven experience in commercial management, bid management, and related roles within the engineering or military sector.
2. Excellent understanding of commercial principles, contract management, and bid processes. Previous experience of military contracts would be advantageous.
3. Accomplished communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with clients and internal stakeholders at all levels.
4. Excellent project management abilities, including the ability to prioritise tasks, meet deadlines, and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
5. Strategic thinker with a track record of developing and implementing successful commercial strategies. Able to work on own initiative with a good level of resourcefulness.
6. High-level proficiency in Microsoft Excel and bid management software.
7. A certification in commercial management, project management, or related fields is desirable.
