Job Overview
We're on the lookout for a dedicated and passionate Commis to be a part of our kitchen team. As a Commis, you will play a vital role in supporting the kitchen operations by assisting with food preparation and ensuring that our high standards of food safety and hygiene are maintained.
Responsibilities
1. Assist in the preparation of ingredients and dishes, ensuring all food is prepared to the highest standards.
2. Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen workspace, adhering to food safety regulations.
3. Support senior chefs in cooking and plating dishes during service periods.
4. Help manage inventory by monitoring stock levels and reporting any shortages to the kitchen management team.
5. Participate in training sessions to enhance culinary skills and knowledge of food safety practices.
6. Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth kitchen operations and effective communication during service.
7. Follow recipes accurately and consistently while contributing creative ideas for menu items when appropriate.
Qualifications
1. Previous experience in a kitchen environment is preferred but not essential; a passion for cooking is crucial.
2. Strong understanding of food safety practices and hygiene standards.
3. Ability to work effectively as part of a team, demonstrating leadership qualities when required.
4. Excellent time management skills with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
5. A positive attitude, willingness to learn, and commitment to delivering high-quality dishes.
6. Knowledge of culinary techniques and food preparation methods is an advantage.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: From £26,000.00 per year
