Come and help us research the highway in Oxfordshire. We’re looking for someone with a passion for the history of Oxfordshire and a love of maps to come and make a real difference to the way we maintain the records of our public highways. About Us We are a small team which maintains the record of the public highway within Oxfordshire using an evidence based approach to create maps which show the extent of the public highway within the County. About the Role You will carry out detailed historical research into the history and extent of the public highway and assist in maintaining the record using an Ordnance Survey based electronic GIS mapping system. You will also be advising colleagues, developers, solicitors, Local Members and the public on matters regarding the extent of the public highway and carrying out in depth research for highway search responses. About you You will be able to carry out research in a structured way using historical and archived records, and present your results in report format. You will be able to defend your conclusions to both experts and lay persons alike. Experience in using GIS Databases is an advantage but full training will be given.
