If you are would like to find out more, please email them directly on nwfsaintyhird.com About The Role: We are looking to recruit a Managing Director in the NWF Banking and Investments Team, who will be accountable for the origination and delivery of complex, bespoke transactions deploying debt, equity and guarantees. The role involves providing leadership and direction to deal teams in analysing investment opportunities, collaborating with co-investors, negotiating documentation, and driving the due diligence and investment approval processes. The role holder will be a prominent leadership figure in the Banking & Investments team, and act as a senior ambassador for the National Wealth Fund. Location: Hybrid working with a minimum of 3 days per week in the Leeds office. Core Responsibilities: Lead Market Engagement: Act as a prominent external ambassador, leading engagement with investors, developers, banks, and industry to enhance the profile of the National Wealth Fund. Develop Internal Strategy: Partner with the Head of Banking and Investments to develop the Fund’s strategy and business plans. Originate and Screen Projects: Oversee the evaluation of potential projects, developing a pipeline aligned with the Fund’s mandate. Shape recommendations to the Investment Committee based on their commercial viability, impact and policy credentials. Oversee Deal Teams: Provide leadership across a broad portfolio. Use experience and expertise to advise deal teams through the structuring, negotiation, and due diligence processes. Develop Strategic Solutions: Provide direction to deliver financing solutions that align with the organisation’s strategic objectives. Utilise the full product suite, including debt, equity, and guarantees. Partner on Government Programmes: Work closely with government departments on their support programmes and business models to address market challenges in specific sectors. Lead and Mentor: Inspire and motivate a high-performing team by leading through example. Engage constructively to share expertise, support professional development, and cultivate an inclusive and collaborative culture. Provide Senior Leadership Cover: Exhibit confidence and leadership to cover for the Head of Banking and Investments at Executive Committee, Investment Committees, and Board meetings. Knowledge, Skill and Experience requirements: Career Experience: Extensive career experience and in debt financing or equity investment, with deep market knowledge. Demonstrated ability to manage a pipeline of projects, prioritising effectively to meet budget targets. Technical Knowledge: Expert knowledge of debt or equity products, with extensive experience in transaction structuring and negotiation. Proven ability to engage at Board level with investors, contractors, and advisors on complex projects. Leadership Excellence: Wide-ranging leadership experience with a proven ability to manage high-performing teams, coupled with a strong enthusiasm for developing talent. Highly motivated: Driven, self-starting and creative with the discipline, diplomacy and team orientation to work in a fast-paced deal environment. Confidence and Credibility: Ability to act with a high level of confidence, maturity, and credibility, positively influencing outcomes in the best interests of the National Wealth Fund.
