An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced clinical leader to join our senior leadership team across Cheshire and Merseyside.
The All Age Continuing Care Service covering Cheshire East and Cheshire West Places is seeking a Head of Services to deliver a portfolio of individual commissioning activity; including NHS Continuing Healthcare, Children and Young People’s Continuing Care, Mental Health Funding - Section 117 aftercare, Section 17 leave and independent hospital placements.
This is a chance for you to lead an efficient, effective, high-quality professional and well-coordinated service, that can meet all statutory, regulatory, quality standards and NHS requirements, whilst ensuring alignment with the activity of the Integrated Care Board.
You will provide clinical and strategic leadership and expertise that delivers continuous improvement as well as ensuring that day-to-day activity meets key performance targets and supports staff.
You will develop and maintain key relationships with Local Authority partners, senior leaders within the ICB and NHS England Assurance leads, ensuring the service exceeds expectations and find ways to resolve challenges.
Main duties of the job
This role demands dynamic leadership, as the post holder has budgetary responsibility for multiple commissioning services, you will be expected to work alongside colleagues in Finance and Contracting teams and be able to monitor and manage staffing and cost of care budgets. An ability to ensure best value for money is considered as well as gaining the best experience for individuals is crucial.
You will be responsible for the management of a large staff team consisting of 60 staff with varied roles and experience, motivating them to deliver the full responsibilities of the service. You will ensure staff receive the support they need to perform well and will be responsible for recruiting to vacancies as they arise.
You will be responsible for ensuring appropriate information sharing processes and data systems are in place and will maintain an appropriate risk management register, issues log and performance monitoring that identifies areas of good practice and areas for improvement.
You will ensure that the service strives to be the best it can be and plan, develop and evaluate practices to ensure commissioning services are delivered to quality standards.
You will need to balance working on your own initiative with negotiating with senior stakeholders to deliver results.
To be successful in this role you should have significant experience in management of patient-facing healthcare and be a subject matter expert in NHS Continuing Healthcare and NHS Funded Nursing Care.

Experience
* Must have an understanding of the background to and aims of current healthcare policy and appreciate the implications of this on engagement.

* Should have an appreciation of the relationship between the Department of Health, NHSE and individual provider and commissioning organisations.

Qualifications
* First Degree in relevant healthcare profession.
* Educated to masters level or have professional knowledge and additional specialist clinical management knowledge acquired through training and experience to Master’s level equivalent level.
* Registered Nursing Qualification and current registration with NMC.
* Evidence of post qualifying and continuing professional development.
