Role description: Reporting to the teams Technical Director and under the guidance of the Principal/Senior Staff you will take on a key role within the team, providing project support for onsite monitoring, as well as office based tasks including 3D modelling, data analysis and reporting. You will be responsible for supporting the Environmental and Building Acoustics sections of the Team in the delivery of projects around the UK including large infrastructure schemes including HS2 and Lower Thames Crossing; and specialist building design projects. You will assist the management team on a project basis to meet budgetary, quality and timeframe targets, with the potential to be fully trained on the Arcadis Project Management Systems. Role accountabilities: Undertake building and environmental acoustic assessments supported by the team management including EIA, RIBA and GRIP stage projects; Undertake acoustic site monitoring surveys across the UK (and Europe as appropriate) as directed by the team management; Data analysis, manipulation and interpretation to support in the preparation of technical reports and design advice; 3D Modelling using proprietary acoustic modelling software packages; etc. SoundPLAN, ODEON, INSUL, IMMI and NoiseMAP 5.0. Knowledge of some of these packages would be beneficial, but knowledge of any of the mainstream proprietary noise mapping software packages is essential; and, Knowledge relevant to grade of appropriate environmental and building acoustics Specifications, Standards and Guidance within the UK (worldwide would be beneficial but not a requirement). Being familiar with, and compliant with, relevant H & S regulations and promoting a culture of awareness within the team; and, Performing other duties and responsibilities as required from time to time by your manager or ARCADIS. Qualifications & Experience: We are looking to fill the role with the right person and as such are willing to consider applications from keen individuals with up to 3 to 4 years’ experience of working in the acoustic consultancy field. It is a key requirement that the individual has experience of Environmental Acoustics Project delivery. Experience of Building Acoustics Project Delivery would be advantageous but not the main consideration. A BSc degree (or similar) with a science, mathematics, environmental or acoustic focus/ content; High level of proficiency in using the Microsoft Office suite, particularly Word and Excel; Experience of proprietary acoustic modelling software; Good English language communication and written skills; Good Mathematics skills; Highly motivated and committed; Good team player with excellent time management skills; Must be eligible to work in the UK and have all required VISAs; and, A full UK driving license Given the national spread of the business a certain level of flexibility in working hours and location is important.
