Management Support Officer Join our Democratic and Member Services team at the heart of the Council, where you will play a crucial role in supporting the decision-making processes and ensuring the smooth and effective operation of council activities. Job Type: Temporary (to cover absence and a vacant post) Primarily office-based with some remote working flexibility £ 13.69 PAYE / £16.81 Umbrella (per hour) Location: Barnsley S70 Day-to-Day Responsibilities: Provide high-quality business support and document management services, including the organisation and maintenance of office facilities. Ensure quality control of documentation such as letters, reports, and graphical documents. Utilize electronic systems for the storage and maintenance of documents, ensuring information is accurate and confidential. Manage diaries, arrange meetings and appointments, and track workloads to ensure efficient prioritisation. Service meetings by preparing relevant documentation, recording outcomes, and ensuring actions are followed up. Respond to enquiries, providing advice, guidance, and information as needed, and assist in resolving issues with other officers and external bodies. Coordinate project management to ensure timely and budget-compliant delivery. Conduct research on council-related policies and issues, preparing reports and analyses as required. Required Skills & Qualifications: Experience in minute taking and working in a business support role. Proficiency in using Microsoft Office applications (Word, PowerPoint, Excel) to produce professional documentation. Ability to service meetings and take minutes directly onto mobile devices accurately and swiftly. Strong communication skills with the ability to handle difficult and sensitive situations appropriately. Capable of working methodically to manage a diverse and challenging workload, prioritising effectively to meet tight deadlines.
