The job plan is a prospective agreement that sets out the consultants duties, responsibilities and objectives for the coming year. It covers all aspects of the consultants professional practice including clinical work, teaching, research, education and managerial responsibilities. It will provide a clear schedule of commitments, both internal and external. In addition, it will include personal objectives including details of their link to wider service objectives and details of the support required by the consultant to fulfil the job plan and the objectives. The job plan, for 10 PAs will commence with 1.5 Core Supporting Professional Activities [SPA] with up to 1 SPA allocated for additional roles to be agreed with the Care Group Director, taking the total to 11 PAs. After six months in post the SPA allocation will be reviewed with the post holder to confirm there are activities in place to justify the 2.5 SPAs; any necessary adjustments will be made to a minimum of 1.5 SPAs. One SPA may be worked flexible and off site if desired in accordance with agreement with LNC. The Job Plan will be reviewed at 3 months and annually thereafter by the Clinical Director/Lead Clinician.
