JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY
WPI's Electrical and Computer Engineering Department is seeking a Learning Support Technician responsible for monitoring and assisting students, faculty, and staff in Electronics and Mechanics. Duties include updating and dispensing components, teaching soldering, troubleshooting circuits and projects, and using design software like Multisim, LabVIEW, Ultiboard, and SolidWorks. Knowledge of machine shop equipment and fabrication materials is also required. The role involves supporting departmental demonstrations and projects.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Fabricate and troubleshoot electrical and mechanical projects and systems.
2. Assist faculty, students, and staff with technical problems.
3. Manage student project accounts and inventory of components and equipment.
4. Help locate parts and equipment for users.
5. Oversee maintenance of shop equipment and department PCs, including cleaning and hardware replacements.
6. Assist students with troubleshooting electronics and mechanical fabrication issues, including software problems related to IPQ and MPQ projects.
7. Manage stocking, dispensing, and retrieving components and materials.
8. Order supplies with managerial approval.
9. Supervise student use of machine and electrical shop tools.
10. Create class demonstrations under faculty guidance.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
* Associate degree
* 2-10 years of relevant experience
Hourly pay rate: $21.25 - $26.01. This is an on-site position, 40 hours per week. WPI offers benefits including retirement match, wellness perks, and tuition assistance.
