Madisons Recruitment are looking for a Technical Coordinator on a permanent basis located in Potters Bar.
Summary/Purpose of Job:
To co-ordinate all technical information on projects from inception to completion.
Responsibilities
To be the company’s ‘Ambassador’ for the department by having an in-depth knowledge of the department’s procedures, programme, and workload.
Provide technical support to the technical manager and wider business on projects.
Review and comment on or approve consultant drawings.
Issue design information for tendering and construction purposes.
Ensure all statutory enquiries and submissions are made to service companies and Local Authority.
Liaise with external (and internal) design team throughout design process to ensure prompt and accurate package delivery.
Prepare legal plans for plot conveyance and site tenure demise etc.
Prepare brochure plans and check sales collateral.
Provide information to discharge planning conditions.
Prepare handover H&S, O & M as built information packs.
Internal liaison with other departments to ensure a clear flow of correct information.
Experience Required:
To hold a recognised qualification in Building Surveying and/or Construction Management.
To have a basic, practical and demonstrable knowledge of Building Surveying, CAD and Construction practises.
To have a basic, practical and demonstrable knowledge of construction methodology.
To have a basic understanding of the various types of construction contracts.
To have an indepth understanding and appreciation of the importance of Health & Safety.
To be financially aware (cost management).
To be computer literate i.e. Word, Excel, Email, AutoCAD, Bluebeam
Requirements
Good communication skills – both oral and written.
Professional Competence - Minimum two years’ experience in an assistant technical coordinator position within the construction industry along with a proven record of managing multidisciplinary teams on medium/large scale projects. Hold an appropriate CSCS card for the role.
Company Competence – compliance to the Core Competence Matrix. Where this is not in place, an agreed training plan is approved by the line manager and training booked.
Role Specific Competence - A good technical knowledge of both house and flat construction, together with a degree of flair for design. A working knowledge of the Building Regulations, Building Safety Act and associated legislation connected with the construction industry.
