Overview: An excellent opportunity for a content creator / filmmaker / production assistant to join a leading production company as a Production Assistant. We’re looking for a creative and highly organised individual with an established interest in and experience of working in content creation, with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment. You will likely have 1-3 years of experience in the industry and have ambitions towards becoming a production manager and/or producer. We anticipate you will have worked as a runner or production assistant on shoots or have some other office-based production experience or have worked in an advertising or marketing agency in a video-related role. This is not an entry level role, but for this role in particular we do pride aptitude and attitude over specific experience. You will be supporting Vermillion Films’ Creative Producer to build upon a solid, hands-on grounding in both production and post production. It is expected that you will build sufficient experience to be producing smaller shoots in the medium term and sections of our operation will likely quickly become entirely your responsibility. Every person we’ve previously employed in this or similar roles has managed to utilise existing skills or ambition to develop the role into something more. Our clients range from global brands to local companies. Vermillion Films is a fully remote company. We’ve worked hard to develop both our working practices and our company culture to accommodate remote working. But we also have regular company meetups and shoots mean that we are often in the same place. A high proportion of our shoots are in Birmingham or London. But we do a certain amount of overseas work so some international travel may be required. Applicants should preferably be located within easy access to Birmingham / West Midlands. Responsibilities will include: Office / Admin · Generating job numbers and setting up new projects in line with existing processes - adding them to internal project management systems and generating templates appropriate to the scope of each project · Generating minutes from client meetings and distributing action plans with relevant members of the team · Ensuring shoot paperwork is named and filed under relevant projects · Managing new enquiries via the website online form and via phone Pre-Production · Assisting producer with logistical planning - including but not limited to booking hotels, taxis, quotes of equipment hire, location house availability, location scouting, catering, prop and wardrobe sourcing · Generating Call Sheets ready for distribution to crew · Prepping location and image release forms and any other accompanying paperwork such as NDAs etc · Managing pre-production for smaller scale shoots end to end with the support / supervision of the Producer On Set · Take on production roles as best required eg runner, 2nd AD, production co-ordinator · Support the crew and producer throughout the day · Gathering BTS footage and images for social media distribution · Pre-empt issues which could hinder the production and work on resolutions with the Producer Post Production · Managing translation process with translation agency - keeping all members of the team up to date with progress and expected delivery dates · Updating deliverables trackers in line with post production progress, monitoring delivery schedules and flagging any delays · Managing deadlines and assisting the producer with post scheduling · Collating BTS footage and stills · Assisting with more simplistic edits eg. Translations, reformatting, subtitles General · Upholding company standards, ensuring business professionalism and our reputation for excellence Existing technical skills in Adobe Premiere and Adobe After Effects would be an advantage but is not fundamental requirement.
