Job Description:
Thermo Fisher Scientific Inc., a global leader in scientific research and innovation, is seeking a highly motivated and experienced individual to join our team as a Purchasing Manager.
Responsibilities include:
• Establishing and implementing short and long-term goals, strategic plans, policies, and procedures aligned with Group and the group leadership team
• Translating Divisional business and Procurement objectives and targets to Category management teams and monitoring category management contributions to these targets
• Delivering on key objectives, including delivery, quality, service, cost, innovation, and growth commitments for Division Procurement
• Partnering with Category Managers, R&D, and Engineering to deliver annual value improvements and drive competitive advantage
• Coordinating business projects, such as M&A integration
• Providing input for make or buy decisions, supplier selection, management of suppliers for product innovation projects, and vendor transitions
• Ensuring alignment with business colleagues within the Group and Division on projects
• Serving as the main contact for Enterprise Processes such as Supplier Quality, Supplier Risk, and Supplier Management
Technical Responsibilities:
• Collecting supplier (technical) capability requirements for current and future product portfolio as input for supplier scouting
• Gathering Division business requirements and assuring compliance to regulatory requirements
• Driving and tracking compliance for indirect materials, as well as linking with Distributed team for procedures
• Using 'scouting approach' to influence R&D and Commercial partners earlier in NPI process, monitoring product pipeline (LCM), supporting product platforming
• Serving as critical issue point of contact for Procurement within the Division
• Consolidating, analyzing and reporting on divisional procurement metrics for business reviews
Leadership Responsibilities:
• Aligning the Procurement strategy with the Divisional Leadership team
• Ensuring procurement value contribution to business and supporting Division initiatives
• Running division input to category strategies (Group specific)
• Engaging with supplier leadership to support the CM team and Division in achieving Thermo Fisher objectives related to quality, cost, innovation, growth and compliance
• Supporting the implementation of common processes, standardizing work, using of tools and technologies
