DN Colleges are seeking a dedicated Specialist to join our Data Returns and Compliance Team (Student Information Services). This role is pivotal in supporting the Team Leader and collaborating with peers and curriculum areas to manage a wide range of student data-related and administrative duties. This job role focuses on maintaining and cleansing student data to ensure the organisation is working with accurate and complete information. The role is responsible for conducting data quality monitoring which includes compliance checks with curriculum departments. The role also supports production of HESES, ILR funding and data returns, using tools to test the integrity of data and to manage funding. The goal is to deliver a professional, customer-focused service to both internal and external customers and students, ensuring effective data quality and management throughout the student life cycle.
Day-to-Day Responsibilities:
Enrolments: Manage enrolments for Further Education (FE), Higher Education (HE), and Apprenticeships.
Data Maintenance: Maintain student data post-enrolment through to completion and achievement.
Administration: Oversee administration, including special access arrangements and support.
Local Site Exams Lead: Act as the key contact at the local centre level, liaising with JCQ/AO inspectors, and managing all aspects of exams, including secure storage and transmission of materials.
Timetabling and Curriculum Planning: Assist in timetabling and course set-up.
Funding and Data Returns: Handle funding and data returns, including ILR, HESES, and PDSATS/FAM reports.
Audit and Compliance: Conduct audit monitoring, compliance checks, and ensure data quality.
Specialist Responsibilities: Lead peer/team training for specific funding streams or activities, and develop, review, and maintain processes and procedures to ensure consistent service across teams.
Data Management: Use the college's student data systems to input and maintain data accurately and timely, ensuring effective management of the student data lifecycle from enrolment to achievement.Essential Criteria:
Education: L3 or higher in a relevant discipline or equivalent, GCSE in Maths & English grade C or above. An IT qualification is desirable.
Experience: Proven experience in a similar role within an educational setting. In depth working knowledge and experience of using IT tools to work effectively (i.e. Microsoft Office).
Skills: Strong administrative and data management skills, with attention to detail.
Knowledge: High level of practical working knowledge and specialist expertise in one or more of a range of student-related streams. Including FE, HE, Apprenticeships, Loans.
Communication: Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. Ability to work collaboratively with peers and support the Team Leader.
Compliance: Understanding of equal opportunities, health and safety requirements, and regulatory compliance.
