over 8500 employees located across the world whose core business is to provide engineering solutions to major
automotive companies and their suppliers.
Due to the continuing success and growth of the business, we are look for a Technical Lead - Seats to join the team. You will have the opportunity to contribute to our continuing expansion and work with our key customers. This role is based in the heart of the automotive industry at EDAG’s facilities in Royal Leamington Spa.
Key Responsibilities: This is will make you grow
* Lead all aspects of Seating & Seating Systems – to deliver Seating systems in line with project targets, KPIs and milestones.
* Act as the key interface between EDAG and the customer(s) for Seating with the ability to professional interact with clients
* Lead and support meetings, e.g. steering committees, project reviews, start-up meetings, etc.
* Direct and liaise with local and EDAG Group technical design / engineering resource to achieve project goals.
* Guide / coach team to build knowledge
* Controlling data maturity and status including recording and tracking issues.
* Setting and managing delivery of seating systems including function, timing, performance, cost weight and quality.
* Collaborate with seating suppliers and support overall vehicle development milestones and prototype/production build events
* Coordinate cross-functional reviews for the resolution of technical issues.
* Support prototype, pre- and production vehicle builds on-site.
* Demonstrate EDAG's excellent reputation while working directly and seamlessly with customers on their projects.
* Interpret CAE simulation results and integrate recommendations into product design
* Knowledge and understanding of Tooling and manufacturing processes
Requirements
* Strong history and capability in Seating design and engineering
* At least Bachelor’s degree, Chartered status preferred
* Very strong, relevant professional experience
* Strong leadership skills
* Ability to overcome cultural barriers
* Demonstrate strong customer, team & supplier management skills
* An ability to work effectively and calmly under pressure and to manage time effectively under tight and rigid deadlines
* Ability to identify key project attributes targets related to the role and support through the appropriate level of vehicle/system analysis
* Relevant experience in Master Sections, Vehicle Integration, Vehicle packaging, Concept creation, assembly processes of various Seat parts.
* Ability to perform Complete Seat packaging study of seating components
* Demonstrate FMEA and root cause analysis experience
* Knowledge of Six Sigma, ideally Green Belt qualified
* Strong numeracy and literacy skills
* Matlab/Simulink, ADAMS essential and SimPack/ CarMaker is a distinct advantage
* Very good proficiency in CATIA V5/V6
* Mircosoft Excel, Word, Power Point, Project, Visio
* Ability to travel
