The Recovery Hub is a recovery/move on service for people living with enduring mental health needs. We provide a 24-hour support service, split over a mixture of shifts including earlies, lates, sleep ins and wake nights.
We support people to manage their mental health, empowering them to move on to more independent accommodation. The length of stay varies depending on the needs and circumstances of the individual.
We are looking for someone with a mature attitude and relevant experience in mental health. Relevant qualifications and experience in leading teams would be beneficial but are not mandatory. Above all, we seek someone who is friendly, enthusiastic, approachable, caring, and compassionate, displaying good morals and values in their approach.
In your role as Assistant Team Leader, you will support the Home Manager and service coordinator in the day-to-day running of the service. You will be responsible for line managing a team of skilled support workers and delivering a high standard of care using a person-centered approach. Additionally, you will mentor and coach the support team, serving as a professional role model of best practice.
You will devise risk assessments and support plans for the individuals you support, following safeguarding procedures and maintaining health and safety requirements within the service at all times.
Other responsibilities include:
* Managing shifts and supervising the staff team, supporting them to carry out their roles efficiently.
* Assisting and supporting the induction of new team members.
* Overseeing administration of medication.
* Maintaining professional relationships with families, health professionals, and others connected with the people we support.
* Stimulating interaction between service users, motivating them to participate in their own development through group, occupational, recreational, and community activities, where appropriate.
* Working flexibly across all shifts and delivering a comprehensive handover to the staff team.
The successful Assistant Team Leader will be:
* Able to lead a shift, using time management skills to ensure all tasks are completed, making the service a safe and pleasant place to live, work, and visit.
* An excellent communicator, able to problem-solve and use initiative to resolve issues and enhance the service provided.
* Experienced in a residential/nursing home or knowledgeable about the social sector.
* Proficient in IT, familiar with packages such as Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel.
* Understanding of recovery pathways would be beneficial, and previous experience of leading teams would be a bonus.
At Milestones Trust, we recognize that without the hard work, commitment, and passion of our staff, we wouldn’t be the charity we are today. In return, we are committed to rewarding you with a competitive pay and benefits package, including:
* 34 days annual leave entitlement
* Company pension scheme
* Learning and development opportunities, including a comprehensive induction programme and the opportunity to undertake further qualifications
* Health Cash Plan on completion of probation
* Generous Occupational Maternity/Paternity pay
* Access to earnings before payday using Dayforce Wallet
* Employee Discount Platform with discounts and cashback for hundreds of retailers
* Employee referral scheme
We pride ourselves on offering staff opportunities to develop and progress their careers within the Trust.
