We have a fantastic apprenticeship opportunity for a Graduate Planner. Working alongside a team of experienced and skilled town planners, we will support you in developing the skills and knowledge that you will need for a rewarding career in town planning.

The role:
Rotating within the Marrons business unit, you will be working with national house builders, land promoters, and landowners. From securing planning permissions and land allocations, to negotiating S106 Agreements and conditions, you will be given the opportunity to be a key part of our business.

Key Responsibilities
* Help prepare advice on the development potential of land and buildings.
* Assisting with preparing planning applications and appeals.
* Assist in providing policy advice and research.
* Drafting representations to plan consultations and examinations.
* Utilising a range of resources to identify land opportunities.
* Working with senior officers, clients and other consultants to deliver development.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
* A keen interest in the built and natural environment, and the Town Planning sector.
* Excellent writing skills with a strong eye for detail and high level of accuracy.
* Excellent communication skills and a friendly approachable manner.
* Ability to prioritise workload and manage time efficiently.
* Strong IT skills.
* Drive, commitment, enthusiastic and a team player approach.
* Committed to your own personal and career development.

Marrons are a nationally growing team of town planning, socio-economic, heritage, and design consultants providing high quality advice and guidance on a wide range of planning and development issues.
Marrons is part of law firm Shakespeare Martineau. We are part of a large multi-disciplinary team which comprises lawyers, surveyors and chartered town planners. As part of Shakespeare Martineau, you will also have access to high quality training and support for the key business skills you need to progress your career in planning consultancy. We support and fund membership of the RTPI for our team.
