Operations Manager

An opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic, highly motivated individual to join our team based in Hertfordshire, as Operations Manager. In this role, you will take responsibility for coordination between internal departments and provision of essential services like crewing and transport to ensure the efficient delivery of a wide range of live events and projects.
You will act as the lynchpin between our internal Operations, Project Management, Warehouse, Workshop, and Site teams to ensure all departments are adequately resourced to meet project requirements. Leading the Operations team, you will oversee key services, including logistics, crewing, and transport, while having a significant impact across all areas of the business by instigating, monitoring, and adapting operational processes to ensure they are robust and scalable.
Key responsibilities include:
1. Taking a broad oversight of all projects to ensure relevant departments are aware of operational requirements.
2. Liaising between internal staff and managing logistics across multiple projects for cost-effective resource use.
3. Supporting the Warehouse and Workshop Managers to ensure their departments are adequately staffed.
4. Overseeing the booking and scheduling of freelance crew, local crew, and transport.
5. Managing company drivers and vehicles, ensuring legal compliance and best practice.
6. Developing and implementing processes to minimize operational wastage and improve efficiency.
7. Promoting health and safety best practices and providing out-of-hours support when required.
The ideal candidate will have:
1. A background in the lighting, audio, or video industry with an inherent understanding of time pressures and deadlines.
2. Experience in resource management, with the ability to adapt to changing circumstances quickly.
3. A positive, can-do attitude, along with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
4. The drive to continuously build and improve our operations management infrastructure and team.
5. Flexibility to work occasional evenings and weekends, as required by the live events industry.
6. A full driving license.
