Job Description:
Our client is looking to expand their internal planning team, through the addition of an Assistant Planner/Planner.
Key responsibilities:
1. Monitor national and local planning updates, including Local Plan progress and housing land supply positions
2. Monitor local planning applications and latest appeal decisions
3. Contribute towards the internal planning strategy, including undertaking relevant research
4. Assist with coordinating the submission of planning applications and site promotion
5. Assist with the review of schemes from a design, technical and sales perspective with relevant internal departments.
6. Instruct, oversee and liaise with consultants, including the collation and review of relevant plans/documents
7. Attend site visits and meetings with internal and external team members/stakeholders
8. Develop and maintain good relations and networks with consultants, local authorities, landowners and other stakeholders
9. Assist with reporting planning progress/updates internally
10. Assist with maintaining internal filing to ensure up-to-date planning records
11. Awareness of internal procedures, objectives, deadlines and budgets
12. Raising payment requests and purchase orders
Requirements:
1. Experience within a developer/housebuilder, planning consultancy or Local Government required
2. A full driving licence required and access to own vehicle
