This is an exciting role for a committed educator who believes in nurturing the potential of students with Special Educational Needs (SEN) and is ready to deliver personalised learning that empowers young minds. About The Role: As an SEN Teacher, you will be responsible for delivering a highly individualised curriculum tailored to meet the needs of students with SEND, including Autism (ASD), ADHD, Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs Speech and Language difficulties and other learning barriers. You will work closely with Teaching Assistants, SENCOs and external professionals to develop and implement strategies that promote inclusion, engagement and confidence in learning. Responsibilities of SEN Teacher: Plan and deliver differentiated lessons that cater to individual student needs, ensuring full access to the curriculum. Implement effective behaviour management strategies to maintain a structured and nurturing classroom environment. Develop and monitor EHCPs (Education, Health and Care Plans), ensuring learning goals are met effectively. Provide targeted interventions to support academic progress, social development and emotional well-being. Collaborate with parents, carers and multidisciplinary teams to foster a holistic approach to student development. Utilise assistive technology, sensory learning strategies and alternative teaching techniques to enhance engagement. Assess and track student progress, adapting teaching methods accordingly to maximise outcomes. The successful candidate will: Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent with a specialism in SEN (or willingness to undertake relevant training). Proven experience working with students with SEND, including ASD, ADHD, speech and language difficulties and SEMH needs. A strong understanding of various SEN needs (including but not limited to autism, ADHD, dyslexia, etc.) and a passion for supporting students with diverse learning requirements. Patience, empathy and exceptional communication skills to work effectively with children, parents and colleagues. A proactive attitude towards problem-solving and the ability to adapt to the individual needs of students. A positive, resilient mindset and the ability to remain calm and professional under pressure. Have an updated CV ( covering the last ten years barring any unexplained gaps ) and an enhanced DBS registered to the Update Service (or be willing to apply for one). Why Choose GSL Education?
