Rotational Band 6 Physiotherapist 37.5 hours a week
We are recruiting to a (37.50 hours a week) Band 6 physiotherapist post to be based at Lincoln County Hospital. The successful applicant will join our integrated physiotherapy and occupational therapy teams, joining rotations comprising of Cardiorespiratory, Older Adults, Medical, Stroke, Surgery/ICU and amputee outpatients. The successful candidate will support the band 7 and static band 6's in the leadership and management of the inpatient physiotherapy teams. This will include supervising junior therapy staff, staff appraisals, supporting with rostering, absence monitoring, contributing to the development of the service and development of junior staff through supervisions, appraisals and in-service training.

Current Band 5’s who have less than the specified 18 months experience will be considered for a transitional post, where they will be supported and will complete competencies that identify that they can be signed over to the Band 6 role, within a 6 month period from appointment.
Main duties of the job
You will be working within the Hospital wards and Physiotherapy outpatient setting, in a 71-member strong team that constantly sets and achieves high standards.
Our team is highly focussed on supporting your development and we work hard to ensure you will receive 1:1 supervision, regular training/peer review and access to advice and support from our team of Clinical Specialist physiotherapists.
All physiotherapists benefit from protected CPD time, as well as the opportunity to attend locally organised courses run by nationally accredited tutors.
The post will be full time, and will work as part of a 7 day service and will include training so that you can participate on a respiratory evening on-call service.
All applicants must have a current HCPC registration.
Person specification
Qualifications
* Diploma / degree in Physiotherapy
* Registration as a Physiotherapist with the Health Care Professions Council (HCPC)
* 5 GCSEs or equivalent at Grade C or above including English Language and Maths
* Evidence of maintained CPD in a portfolio including attendance at relevant post graduate courses
* NHS experience
* Membership of the CSP
* Involvement in a special interest group (e.g. AGILE, ACPIN, ACPRC)
* Basic Management Training
Experience
* Proven experience as a physiotherapist in a variety of NHS clinical areas. Including experience in the treatment of Medical/Stroke/Respiratory/HDU/ICU/Older adults
* Experience of working as part of a team/ MDT
* Good theoretical knowledge with working knowledge of a broad range of conditions
* Student or assistant supervision, contributing to education
* Knowledge of the workings of the community services and intermediate care services
* Involvement in audit, research and understanding quality issues
Skills
* Knowledge of CSP guidelines, Trust policies & procedures understanding the legal responsibilities of the role
* Understanding clinical governance & its implications for the service
* Ability to organise, delegate and prioritise in a timely and effective manner
* Ability to evidence/demonstrate key values and behaviours in line with the Trust framework
* Excellent verbal, non verbal and written skills, including ability to write complex reports and present
* Ability to work alone and as part of a team
* Ability to lead a team
* Ability to cope with working in a moderately physical and stressful environment with aggressive and emotional people.
* Ability to evidence/demonstrate key values and behaviours in line with the Trust framework:
* Evidence of participation in audits
* Ability to organise and run internal courses
* Supervision of other staff
* Committee membership e.g. safety committee.
Specific Requirements
* Special interest in development of Neurological and Medical Services.
* Able to meet the Travel Requirements of the post
* Flexibility and ability to work in a moderately physical and stressful environment
