Head of Business Studies & Economics A highly reputable secondary school in Chelmsford is seeking a dedicated and experienced Head of Business Studies & Economics to lead its dynamic department. The Role: The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the Business Studies & Economics department, ensuring high-quality teaching and learning, and fostering a culture of academic excellence. Key responsibilities include: Developing and delivering an engaging curriculum that meets examination board requirements. Supporting and mentoring teachers within the department to enhance teaching standards. Monitoring student progress and implementing strategies for continuous improvement. Managing resources and budgets effectively to support learning. Maintaining strong relationships with students, parents, and colleagues to create a positive learning environment. The Candidate: The ideal candidate will have: A degree in Business Studies, Economics, or a related field. A recognised teaching qualification (PGCE, QTS, or equivalent). Proven experience teaching Business Studies and/or Economics at Key Stages 4 and 5. Previous leadership experience within a department or as a subject lead (desirable but not essential). A track record of achieving strong academic outcomes. Excellent communication, leadership, and organisational skills. A passion for fostering a love of business and economics among students.
