About this role Research and External Engagement (REE) is a new integrated service dedicated to driving forward the Universitys ambitions for, research, innovation, skills and enterprise. ? This professional service works to support our students, drive research excellence, upskill and reskill the regions workforce, strengthen relationships and engagement with our alumni, business and community partners. Through cutting-edge research initiatives, hands-on learning opportunities, strategic partnerships, civic leadership, and skills delivery, we will empower individuals to thrive in an ever-changing world. ? The Civic and Inclusivity team within REE will develop and deliver the Universitys civic and social impact ambitions, identifying opportunities for cross-disciplinary collaboration with regional government, civic and community partners across research and innovation, employability, enterprise and skills. ? The team will develop and deliver projects and activity that create social value, inclusive growth and opportunities for all, enhancing student and staff experiences through community engagement, voluntary action, and enterprise-driven social impact. The Head of Civic and Inclusivity will provide strategic leadership to the Universitys Civic and Inclusivity team, shaping and advancing UWE Bristols priorities for civic engagement and impactful community partnerships, positioning the University as a driving force for positive change in the West of England region. The Head of Civic and Inclusivity will oversee the development and expansion of a portfolio of projects that align with the Universitys academic strengths and inclusivity goals. These initiatives will foster opportunity and enrich the experience of all UWE Bristol students, staff and our community, reinforcing the Universitys commitment to inclusivity, community impact, and excellence. A member of Research and External Engagements Senior Leadership Team, the postholder will actively engage in high-level regional meetings, championing the Universitys vision and influence. They will spearhead the growth and enhancement of partnerships with civic and community organisations, identifying strategic opportunities to contribute to the economic, social, environmental, and cultural prosperity of the region. This post is available on a job share basis for applicants wishing to work part time UWE Bristol is a campus-based University and it is vital to our success and the delivery of an outstanding experience for our students that our campuses are dynamic and vibrant places to learn and spend time. This role is therefore campus based for at least 60 percent of your time, with the opportunity to work from home on the remaining days.
