Bristol City Council Housing Options Service has a vacancy for a Senior Legal Officer.
You will provide legal advice and support to staff within Housing Options and specifically to staff within the Homelessness Prevention and Rehousing Teams.
You will be responsible for promptly addressing any legal challenges and overseeing the process for ending placements in temporary accommodation. Often these can be time sensitive so it will be critical that you are able to work under pressure to tight deadlines.
You will provide training and support to the Housing Options Service and therefore excellent communication skills will be required. You will also be required to contribute and assist in the development of new policies and procedures for the Housing Options service.
You will need to be able to work on your own initiative and ensure that you keep your knowledge of the legislation and any relevant, new caselaw up to date.
This post will work and be managed within the Housing Options Service at 100 Temple Street but will work closely with and receive professional supervision from the internal Bristol City Council Legal Services team.
