Long established, UK renowned manufacturing organisation (automotive washing systems) looking to expand its Team capability, seeks bright enthusiastic individuals to join them as Service Engineer. The ideal candidate will have a general understanding of Mechanics, Electrics, Hydraulics and Pneumatics.
The Service Engineer role is offered as a permanent contract with immediate start available, with a competitive salary, company van and mobile phone. This is an exciting opportunity to join the business and play a full part in its future development.
Service Engineer duties would include:
1. Conduct root cause analysis and rectification on faulty equipment during breakdowns or service jobs
2. Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on company and customer equipment
3. Develop and implement creative ideas to reduce technical failures
4. Install and maintain vehicle washing machines and water reclaim systems for bus, truck & rail operators
5. Carry out emergency breakdown repairs on vehicle washing equipment and water reclaim systems
6. Provide or organise weekend cover and be on standby as required
7. Stay overnight when necessary for installing or repairing machines
8. Adhere to Company's Terms & Conditions of Employment and Health & Safety Legislation
9. Provide technical support to Sales on machine selection, performance, and capability
10. Ensure equipment allocation and stock control meet requirements
11. Communicate additional requirements to Service for quotations
12. Advise Sales & Service Manager on capacity planning and cost-reducing improvements
13. Collaborate with colleagues and service departments to develop better products and improve installation efficiency
14. Communicate and document site performance and technical issues to Service Manager, highlighting areas for improvement
15. Complete all company documentation accurately and on time
16. Adhere to all company policies and procedures relevant to your role
17. Request further training or advice when needed to safely carry out duties
Skills/Experience needed for a Service Engineer:
1. A general understanding of Mechanics, Electrics, Hydraulics and Pneumatics - Essential
2. Experience with electric motors, drive shafts, pumps, gearboxes, and PLCs/PCBs
3. Skilled in machine fitting, plumbing, and electrical work
4. Understanding of Health & Safety, with mechanical and basic electrical knowledge
5. Experience providing good customer service, including explanations and advice
Location: Stevenage, Luton, Salisbury, Reading, Slough, Chelmsford and Cambridge
Hours of Work: 40 hours per week, Overtime available
Salary: £26,000 to £30,000 plus OTE (negotiable dependent on experience)
