Within this role you will deliver exceptional support to the finance team in a Credit Controller capacity, responsible for issuing case fee invoices to legal services providers, ensuring the timely and accurate communication of billing details through email, post, and phone. What you will be doing: - Issuing of all case fee invoices on a daily basis Operating the Credit Control function by maintaining detailed and accurate records of any contact made with the legal profession to agreed standards and timeframes. Management of the contact details and ensuring all first time law firms have been contacted within the first 3 weeks after a new invoice is issued. Dealing with legal profession to resolve queries (working collaboratively with the designated colleagues to resolve all queries). Identifying problem case fee invoices and issues with the collection of outstanding amounts and escalating these to the Management Accountant for review and potential court action or write off. Processing of daily bank receipts and monthly bank reconciliations for the fee account. Processing and recommending credit notes as required by the business Responsible for calculating the monthly Bad Debt Provision (guidelines will be provided) This role will provide cover for the Finance Officer Purchase Ledger as and when required. Assist the Finance Team with Month End Close process Assisting with other general administrative tasks such as purchase order processing and taking responsibility for collecting authorisations. About you: The ideal candidate will be a team player, willing and able to cover for colleagues when required. You should possess good communication skills and be confident in organising and prioritising your workload. You will be an excellent communicator orally and in writing, with a hands on, can-do attitude. You will be able to explain complex issues in simple terms that are easy to understand and be able to establish trust and confidence with internal and external stakeholders. You will be competent and confident in sales ledger processing and Credit Control as well as Accounts Payable/Purchase Ledger processing. You will also have strong telephone skills, able to listen to potentially difficult and complex queries, and remain focused on key points. You will have experience of an accounting package, knowledge of the accounting double entry system and be able to manage time and meet deadlines without being Micromanaged.
