Bristol Veterinary Specialists (BVS)
We are seeking a registered veterinary nurse to join our growing cardiology team at Bristol Veterinary Specialists. We are a brand-new multidisciplinary referral centre based in Avonmouth, Bristol. Covering over 30, square feet, it is custom built with uniquely designed facilities and the latest cutting-edge equipment. Currently, we have one registered European and RCVS specialist in Cardiology and are recruiting another.
The candidate would assist in cardiology work-ups, including echocardiography, ECG, X-ray and CT. We hold nursing appointments to fit Holter ECG monitors and in between cases, an effort is made to improve our nurse's practical skillset and cardiology knowledge. We also have regular cardiac procedures (mostly for patients with congenital heart disease) that we encourage our nurses to scrub into and participate in.
The successful candidate will have great communication skills to ensure our clients and referring practices receive excellent customer service. You will be patient and caring towards our often-fragile patients and support them through their diagnostic investigations. You will have the ability to work on your own at times but also possess great teamwork skills to allow the cardiology team to communicate and work effectively (as well as all other disciplines within the hospital).
