Dementia Lead Summary: Dementia Lead Specialist Nurse Practitioner £48,500 depending on experience (band 7 equivalent) Based at Central Office site, Winchester but covering all Brendoncare services 35 hours across a 7-day service Extensive CPD programme Not for Profit care provider The Brendoncare Foundation is seeking a motivated and experienced dementia nurse specialist to lead, implement and develop its dementia strategy. This exciting role will be responsible for embedding training pathways in partnership with external providers, ensure that all people living with dementia receive quality information, care and support and ensure that all staff across Brendoncare have the knowledge and skills to improve and enhance quality of life for those living with dementia. The role will support both our care and nursing homes and our community services. The role is clinical and the successful candidate will be expected to work alongside staff in our dementia units evaluating training, working with complex need and supporting staff with translation of knowledge into practice. Job Requirements: Registered Nurse (RGN/RMN) with minimum 5 years’ experience working with people living with dementia in a care home/community setting. Post graduate qualifications in dementia Extensive experience in delivering training in dementia Extensive experience in assessing the individual needs of people living with dementia Evidence of continuing professional and clinical development Ability to manage and motivate the care team Ability to write reports clearly and concisely Benefits: 6.6 weeks’ annual leave increasing to 7 weeks with five years service.
