Job Overview:
Our client has an immediate vacancy in their Gloucester office for an experienced Principal or Associate Civil Engineer, progressing into a director level role in the near future with an ambition to oversee the technical delivery of a portfolio of projects. In doing so the candidate will ensure the quality and accuracy of the engineering is to the highest standard and will be responsible for the quality management of designs and the commercial performance of projects.
Our client is very active in the following areas:
1. Commercial housing of all kinds
2. Social housing
3. Care homes
4. Renewable energy projects - notably wind farms
5. Industrial developments
6. Commercial and industrial
They have projects throughout the UK, but most of the work is in South Wales and the South West of England.
The role therefore requires the candidate to be empathetic and supportive of staff working with their design team and will be confident and engaging with our valued clients. The candidate will undertake technical design work and reporting themselves so they will be required to have good written and verbal communication skills. They will be highly competent in the design of drainage, highways and Civil infrastructure and will be used to the various adoption procedures for highway authorities and water utilities.
It will be desirable to have a working knowledge of:
1. Micro drainage
2. Flow
3. AutoCAD
4. Civil 3D
Qualifications:
1. Must have a full UK driving license
2. 8+ years of UK post graduate work experience
3. A civil engineering degree
4. Chartered or nearly Chartered Engineer
5. This candidate must be happy with progressing into a director level role in the near future
