We are looking for an IT & Equipment Assistant to join our growing team at our head office in Coventry, with some travel between regional offices across England and opportunities to work flexibly and to an extent, remotely. In this role, you will be helping the IT Manager and external IT Support Partner maintain and develop the company’s IT systems and equipment, as well as supporting your colleagues with IT issues, training, inductions and sourcing specialist tech solutions for ecological surveying. This position reports to: IT Manager Scope of Job: Triage queries on IT/equipment issues reported by colleagues: Resolve minor issues, or direct colleagues to the IT support partner/IT Manager. Track and analyse reported issues for trends. Administer and manage Windows workstations and Android mobile devices: Setup Windows workstations for new users/user switches. Prepare workstations for secure disposal. Setup Android mobile devices (mobiles & tablets). Stock maintenance & inventory: Source & setup mobile devices & other key supporting equipment. Maintain inventory & audits of existing equipment/equipment compliance. Help with on-boarding new colleagues and providing IT inductions. Help maintain a continual campaign to educate colleagues on cyber security and how to maintain their allocated IT equipment up-to-date and in compliance. Helping with research and discovery. This is where knowledge of topics – such as - DSLR photography/videography and/or understanding properties of different types of Lithium batteries would come in handy. There will be ample opportunity to learn from colleagues in different teams and potentially develop skills based on personal interests that may fit within any the different areas of surveying tech. Essential Experience of working in a customer care environment. Ability to perform helpdesk-related administrative tasks. Good understanding of Windows & Android OS. Experience of supporting & managing laptops/desktops and mobile devices. Level 3 Computing & ICT, or BTEC National Certificate and Diploma IT Practitioners, or comparable, demonstrable experience. Ability to communicate at all levels. Ability to gather relevant information about a support issue from non-technical colleagues. Experience of working unsupervised. Impeccable attention to detail. Excellent problem-solving skills. Experience of prioritising work under pressure. Good time management and organisational skills. Ability to work flexibly. Beneficial Experience of first line support on Windows 11, Office 365, Azure. CompTIA A, or similar. Awareness of cyber security. UK driving license.
