If shortlisted for 2nd stage interview candidates must be available for a face to face on site interview at Rolls-Royce Bristol on the 24th of February.
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a System Design Integrator to join the Product Design team within the Design Engineering function, based at Rolls-Royce in Bristol.
This role is part of a high profile, fast paced and ambitious engineering challenge. What we are striving to achieve requires innovative thinking, creative problem solving, clarity of purpose and a willingness to demonstrate leadership at the highest level.
As a System Design Integrator, you will be responsible for and have knowledge in problem resolution, defining requirements, designing and integrating products, physical & functional systems & product systems, performing technical analysis, verifying products, physical & functional systems and components throughout the product lifecycle.
What you will be doing:
In this role, you will be accountable for:
1. Systematically investigating and understanding problems; Safety, Quality, Customer Requirement, Business Requirement using Systems Engineering principles.
2. Understanding products and their interactions at platform, system, sub-system, component, component feature and manufacturing process level.
3. Defining and interpreting product definition and documentation.
4. Defining and documenting requirements, including operational and lifecycle contexts.
5. Demonstrating ability to engineer complex (electro, fluid, thermal, mechanical) systems.
6. Integrating outward to platform and customer environment and inwards through product systems and sub-systems.
7. Defining creative, robust, optimised, solutions managing risk and applying new technology as appropriate to deliver quality within highly regulated industries.
8. Supporting validation and Verification activities.
9. Creating justifications for release to service.
10. Supporting products in production and service.

* Bachelor's degree or Master's in Engineering or regional equivalent qualification, or equivalent experience
* Strong technical knowledge in mechanical design methodologies and have an understanding of cross-discipline engineering concepts which include but are not limited to manufacturing engineering, aerodynamics, thermodynamics, thermal and mechanical analysis, cost engineering and product definition.
* An ability to apply logical, analytical and innovative thinking on a range of technical problems and make balanced decisions across technical and business parameters
* Knowledge and experience of product integrity / liability and certification frameworks
* Membership of a relevant professional body appropriate to region. In the UK - attained/ working towards Chartered status is preferred (and equivalent regional variations)
* Good communication and presentation skills at all levels of the organisation
* Experience in applying Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) would be useful
*To work for Rolls-Royce you need to hold a Security Check (SC) clearance without any caveats to that clearance. Rolls-Royce will support the application for Security Clearance if you don’t currently already have this in place.
