Business Analyst / QA Tester Location: Norwich Salary: £40,000 £45,000 per annum Working Hours: 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 9:00am 5:30pm Simon Acres Recruitment are looking for a Business Analyst / QA Tester for a well-established, highly successful, and growing Furniture retailer. Role Overview The Business Analyst / QA Tester position blends business analysis and quality assurance responsibilities to ensure the delivery of efficient, high-quality software solutions. As the link between management, stakeholders, and the development team, youll be responsible for streamlining requirements gathering, defining clear and consistent processes, and performing rigorous testing on new features and updates. Your work will ensure that business needs are accurately translated into technical solutions and that those solutions are delivered to a high standard, free from defects. Key Responsibilities Requirements & Ticket Scoping: Define and scope Jira tickets with precision, translating business requirements into clear, actionable tasks for the development team including detailed descriptions and acceptance criteria to reduce ambiguity Process Documentation: Collaborate with management to create and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for the development team, promoting efficiency and consistency Technical Collaboration: Work alongside developers to understand technical limitations and propose practical, business-aligned solutions. Act as a clear and effective translator between technical teams and business stakeholders Quality Assurance: Conduct thorough manual QA testing on new features and bug fixes to ensure solutions meet business requirements and are defect-free prior to release Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with stakeholders across departments (Sales, Operations, Customer Service, etc.) to gather requirements and ensure solutions are seamlessly integrated into existing business workflows Experience Essential: Proven experience in a Business Analyst, QA Tester, or hybrid role Strong understanding of Agile methodologies and Jira ticketing systems Experience writing user stories and defining clear acceptance criteria Desirable: Experience working in retail, e-commerce, or operational environments Familiarity with test case design and defect tracking systems Exposure to process improvement initiatives Skills, Attributes & Behaviours Essential: Excellent written and verbal communication skills Confident liaising with both non-technical stakeholders and technical development teams Strong analytical and critical thinking capabilities Desirable: A collaborative mindset and a proactive, solutions-oriented attitude Qualifications A degree (or equivalent experience) in a relevant field such as Computer Science or Information Technology would be advantageous but is not essential for the role Simon Acres Recruitment are acting as the employment agency in relation to this vacancy.
