Our client is the UK's leading hard landscaping manufacturer and has been supplying superior natural stone and innovative concrete products to the construction, home improvement, and landscape markets since the 1890s.
Our excellent client now has an opportunity for an experienced Maintenance Engineer with either a Mechanical or Electrical bias to join a busy Maintenance Team at their production site in Halifax.
What's the mission?
Your main responsibilities will be to ensure the continuous running of the production process by eliminating downtime through a safe and logical approach to fault finding and maintenance of equipment. You will work on various types of equipment including complex hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical/electronic control systems.
You will be responsible for carrying out a range of planned and reactive engineering activities on-site. Working 42 hours per week, the Dupont shift pattern covers both days and nights (with the benefit of 7 consecutive days off, and you'll only work 2 weekends out of 4).
What are the mission-critical skills?
1. Time served/apprentice trained in a similar position ideally with Electrical qualifications (C&G 2320 P1 & P2, ONC, NVQ 3 or equivalent).
2. Good understanding of current environmental and health and safety issues and knowledge of regulatory requirements.
3. Practical hands-on approach.
4. Experience in electrical fault finding, defect rectification, and routine maintenance activities.
5. Ability to interrogate and understand maintenance problems to provide accurate plant condition information/recommendations.
6. Basic electrical knowledge with PLCs would be a bonus!
7. Experience in mechanical fitting, hydraulics, and pneumatics will be an advantage.
Shifts - 2x12hr Days, 2x12hr Nights - 4 off.
Salary - Up to £50,500 PA
