About the Post:
We have an exciting opportunity for a qualified Social Worker to join our locality team. The ideal candidate will have a very good understanding of the Mental Capacity Act 2005 legislation and be knowledgeable in understanding of Human Rights 1998 and the Care Act 2014. You will have strong social work values that lead your practice with people helping them to achieve the best outcomes. The role will entail working with individuals, families, carers, and communities to enable them to make informed decisions, to promote independence, whilst working in a strengths-based approach. Undertaking preventative work and risk assessments utilising community resources and services such as reablement and telehealth care is also a key part of the role. You will construct value for money care packages, and commission and arrange appropriate services.
You will be responsible for the completion of Care Act assessments, capacity assessments and Court work. Your role in our journey
As a Social Worker in our adult’s localities teams you will be a relatable practitioner responding to situations with strengths-based practice at the heart of your work. You will develop creative and imaginative solutions to help people achieve positive outcomes which enable people to maintain their independence and live a happier healthier life. Here, you’ll help individuals, families, carers and communities to make the right decisions for a safer, more independent future. Along the way, you’ll make your own progress through training programmes.
What you’ll need
To join us, you’ll need to have a recognised social work qualification and be registered with Social Work England or waiting to be registered. You’ll bring some relevant experience of working with adults and be expected to produce high quality assessments, collaborating with various agencies, and interpreting case law and legislation. Knowledge of the Care Act and Mental Capacity Act, local and national policy issues, equal opportunity, and anti-oppressive practice are vital. We’ll expect you to be a skilled communicator and a flexible, creative practitioner; determined to make the most of this unique opportunity.
