The Opportunity An exciting opportunity for an experienced people manager to join this organisation's Tech team as a Cyber Security Team Leader. Playing a key role in developing people, you will ensure the security of their enterprise scale network infrastructure and information systems, while enabling open and modern secure digital services.Leading a team to support the business areas to understand and shape their security requirements, you will drive staff development, talent management, and career progression and lead on key people processes such as recruitment, regular one-to-ones, and performance reviews, while maintaining a strong focus on colleague wellbeing. As an active member of the Tech department based in Newcastle, based on a hybrid working model, you will be expected to be in the office 1 or 2 days per week. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who can enthuse a team and support them to rationalise highly complex technical information and transform it into understandable content for others to work with. The Role As the Cyber Security Team Leader, you will be responsible for: The management of day-to-day activities and general management of the security operations team including development, recruitment, performance management and pastoral care. Supporting the outputs of the Cyber Security Improvement Programme. Ensuring appropriate access control and monitoring on IT systems. Actively monitoring and undertaking activities that mitigate threats to the integrity of their Information Assets. Supporting the team to perform forensically sound acquisitions of computer systems and associated media. Supporting the management of the IT security incident process. Carrying out reviews, internal audits and spot-checks to ensure the effective operation of security monitoring and alerting. Providing expert help and guidance across the lifecycle of a security solution implementation. The Person You will be experienced in staff management and coaching having been responsible for development, recruitment, performance management and pastoral care. Though technical skills within cyber security will be beneficial, this is not essential, so long as you have a strong networking/infrastructure background and have been exposed to cyber security and have a real interest in specialising in this field.
