Overview
The National Account Executive is responsible for managing and driving wine sales across the off-trade sector, including supermarkets, retail chains, convenience stores, and online retailers. The role focuses on developing strong commercial relationships with key accounts, executing effective sales strategies, and delivering on national sales targets. This position requires strong negotiation skills, and the ability to collaborate with key stakeholders to ensure a consistent supply chain and promotional alignment.
Responsibilities
1. Develop and manage key relationships with national retail chains, supermarkets, and convenience stores.
2. Act as the primary point of contact for designated accounts, ensuring smooth communication and effective sales partnerships.
3. Collaborate with retailers to execute promotional campaigns and seasonal offers.
4. Create and implement account-specific sales plans to drive growth and profitability.
5. Identify new business opportunities within the off-trade sector, securing listings for wine products across multiple categories.
6. Monitor market trends, consumer insights, and competitor activity to inform sales strategies.
7. Deliver and exceed national sales targets by volume and revenue.
8. Forecast sales and manage account budgets, ensuring profitability and performance metrics are met.
9. Regularly review and analyse sales performance, adjusting plans where necessary to optimize outcomes.
10. Lead annual negotiation of trading terms, promotional calendars, and pricing structures with key off-trade clients.
11. Manage contracts and ensure compliance with agreements across accounts.
Person Specification
1. Experience of sales and/or buying
2. Strong influencing skills with ability to adapt style to others
3. Numerate, confident with basic financial analysis and analysing sales data
4. Confident using Microsoft Excel, Powerpoint, and Outlook
5. Interest in wine and/or grocery sector
