Sanctuary Personnel, an innovative and committed recruitment agency, has a new permanent position available for a Social Worker within the Adult Learning Disability Team to work Full Time based in Bromley.
The salary for this permanent Social Worker job is up to £46,578 per annum.
Main duties:
1. Ensuring the ethos of wellbeing is adhered to when working with vulnerable adults and their carers.
2. Participate in the operation of duty and respond accordingly to need, which will involve Safeguarding enquiries and Best Interest Assessment (BIA) when required.
3. Provide an assessment service to individuals, their carers and other agencies in accordance with Care Act 2014 criteria.
4. Initiate and co-ordinate care and support plans for and with individual service users and support plans for carers, in conjunction with professional colleagues and representatives of voluntary and private agencies.
5. Supervise and support staff as agreed with Line Manager and in line with Council Procedures.
6. Offer support and advice as appropriate to service users and carers.
7. Through the assessment and prioritisation of need, commission appropriate services and authorise expenditure on services within designated limits.
8. Monitor the efficiency and effectiveness of individual care and support plans.
9. Review the needs of individual service users and carers, and maintain client records in accordance with Council Policy.
10. Respond to and where possible resolve complaints within the Council’s complaints procedure.
11. Respond to new and changed legislation in respect of Adult Services and implement as directed.
12. Contribute to service development by providing information and suggestions for future services.
13. Ensure effective use of all available resources including voluntary sector to meet the eligible needs of the adult.
14. Participate in multi-disciplinary and inter-agency meetings and working groups and represent the Department as required.
15. Co-ordinate, participate and where appropriate chair case conferences and planning meetings including Safeguarding meetings.
16. Undertake any other duties commensurate with the level of the post, as required to ensure the efficient and effective running of the Department/Section.
Requirements of this Social Worker role:
1. A professional Social Work qualification or equivalent.
2. Understanding of relevant legislation.
3. Registered or eligible for registration.
4. Have a good working knowledge of the relevant legislation.
