Business Development Manager
Salary: basic c£40k (£80k realistic OTE) car allowance
Location: Remote / Field based role (on the road 3-4 days per week) covering Midlands and the South – candidate to be based within a commutable distance of Birmingham and London.

We have an exciting opportunity for a Business Development Manager / Area Sales Manager to join a forward-thinking, progressive, and leading business in their sector. Attitude is everything in this exciting role; a relentlessly focused and acquisitive sales approach will be much more important than industry knowledge.
This is a consultative sales role, so you'll need to take time to uncover the deeper requirement in every situation.
The Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate will have experience in a Business Development Manager / Area Sales Manager or Field Sales role, with strong business acumen, an entrepreneurial style, and the ability to consistently exceed targets.
The company: An entrepreneurial technology business in the packaging sector who are part of a larger group. They offer a range of capital equipment and service clients in sectors including print / packaging, production, manufacturing, engineering, retail, and OEMs.
Business Development Manager - The Role
1. Effectively manage qualified leads from the internal sales & marketing team and close business.
2. Put together sales proposals and visit customer sites, working collaboratively with internal technical teams, sales support, and the product demonstrator.
3. Develop profitable, working relationships with prospects and customers to achieve sales targets.
4. Effectively manage and maintain a healthy, progressive pipeline in Hubspot.
5. Accurately forecast and manage sales opportunity progress through Hubspot.
6. Proactively uncover and develop new business opportunities wherever possible.
Candidate Requirements
1. Consultative salesperson with high integrity and the ability to build rapport to gain a deep understanding of customer requirements.
2. Strong business acumen with an entrepreneurial style.
3. Experience in a Business Development Manager, Area Sales Manager, Field Sales Executive or similar role.
4. Ability to deliver a sales target.
5. Tech / IT savvy, preferably with experience of using systems and CRMs such as Hubspot.
