The Director of People will play a critical role in shaping the organisation’s people strategy and practices, working closely with leadership to align HR initiatives with overall organisational goals. This individual will be responsible for providing both strategic guidance and operational excellence on key areas within Human Resources. You will ensure the successful implementation and embedding of HR policies and procedures, fostering a culture that supports the organisation's growth objectives. Additionally, the Director of People will offer leadership across the organisation, ensuring that Noah’s Ark Children’s Hospice has the right capacity, capability, systems, and processes in place to deliver seamless support to management, staff, and volunteers. This includes overseeing the full employee and volunteer life cycles, ensuring that each stage is effectively managed to promote a positive, productive work environment. JOB DESCRIPTION You will be a senior HR professional with a proven track record of delivering across a broad HR remit, particularly during periods of organisational growth and change. As an exceptional people leader, you will have a talent for motivating and galvanising high-performing teams of staff and volunteers. You bring a wealth of experience from working within a health or social care charity, or an organisation of similar scale and complexity, with experience in the hospice or healthcare sector being a distinct advantage. A strategic and innovative thinker, you excel at translating overarching strategies into actionable operational and project plans, while aligning business and commercial goals with a robust, engaging people strategy. You have a strong track record of developing dynamic recruitment and talent strategies, including leveraging digital platforms, social media, events, partnerships, and staff referrals. Your expertise extends to deep knowledge of HR and learning and development legal, regulatory, and best practice requirements. With excellent communication skills, you build strong relationships with partners and stakeholders, and you are deeply committed to promoting Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion.
