About the Role We're seeking a driven and detail-oriented Surveyor to join our Commercial team. You'll be responsible for managing costs across procurement and subcontracting, producing valuations, and ensuring cost efficiency across construction projects. This role is key to driving project profitability while supporting junior surveyors and collaborating across departments. Key Responsibilities Prepare sub-contractor tender packs and analyse bids Negotiate and place sub-contract orders Produce cost breakdowns and maintain databases Handle subcontractor payments, interim valuations, and final accounts Price non-standard extras and variations Update valuation systems and produce monthly CVRs and CTCs Liaise regularly with site teams and Housing Associations Support training and mentoring of Trainee Surveyors Key Relationships Work closely with Finance, Sales, Construction, and Technical teams, along with subcontractors and suppliers. Ideal Candidate Experience in cost control and commercial processes Strong understanding of construction drawings and valuations Excellent negotiation and communication skills Able to manage multiple projects and deadlines Familiarity with industry software tools and databases Why Join Us?
