Bid Writer - Fulltime, Hybrid - Stone, Staffordshire
Up to £30k (+ performance-based bonus)

Role:
As the Bid Writer, you will be responsible for generating concise and persuasive bid proposals, creating and delivering presentations to public sector (local authority) prospective clients.
This position has become available due to company expansion and demand. You will join a small but highly successful team, including one other Bid Writer, a Senior Bid Writer, and their Head of Bids.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Meet strict internal and external deadlines to maximize bid success.
2. Attend and actively participate in meetings, providing valuable input.
3. Request and gather information from colleagues and relevant parties within set timeframes, demonstrating confidence and assertiveness when needed.
4. Update and improve the Bid Library regularly.
5. Refine and adapt bid content to enhance responses, re-writing old proposals when appropriate.
6. Build and maintain strong internal and external relationships.
7. Conduct proactive research into markets and clients before meetings.
8. Submit completed bid responses within deadlines, escalating issues as necessary.
9. Create tailored responses and method statements aligned with client requirements.
10. Develop presentations and supporting materials for each bid.
11. Review and analyze bid outcomes to inform future improvements.
12. Assist other departments with copywriting for newsletters, marketing materials, or ad hoc documents when needed.
Requirements:
* At least 2 years’ experience in bid writing, with proven ability to produce effective sales and strategy documentation.
* Exceptional writing and English language skills.
* Ability to produce concise, impactful content.
* Excellent editing skills.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office and IT tools.
* Forward-thinking, collaborative, flexible, and with a strong work ethic.
* Confident in presenting bids professionally and succinctly.
* Experience managing demanding workloads and prioritizing tasks efficiently.
* Keen attention to detail for accuracy.
