Ken Mills Engineering Ltd are recruiting for a Mechanical Engineer/Fitter Apprentice. KME are based in Littleborough, Lancashire. KME Ltd have been producing large scale machinery for the waste and recycling sector and specialist systems for agricultural clients for over 40 years. KME Ltd provide machinery worldwide and are a fast-paced family run business with over 40 employees.

Entry Criteria:
Applicants must have a grade 4 or above in English GCSE and ideally a 5 or above in Maths GCSE.
The successful candidate will enrol on the Engineering Fitter Apprenticeship with Burnley College, which involves day-release at college.

Duties/Main Responsibilities:
The Job:
1. On-the-job learning with a qualified fitter.
2. Shop floor environment – including building & fitting large recycling and agricultural machinery.
3. Reading and understanding detailed technical drawings.
4. Working to tight deadlines with exceptional attention to detail.
The Person:
1. Good team player.
2. Be punctual.
Things to Consider:
As part of your apprenticeship, you will support with the installation and service of the machinery. Overseas travel may be required.
Working Week:
Full time, 39 hours per week with overtime available but not guaranteed. 45-minute break.
